The City of Port Alberni is pleased to welcome Alicia Puusepp as the new Manager of Communications.

Alicia brings considerable experience from her years with Metro Vancouver’s Public Involvement Division. She has served in the capacity of Consultation and Community Relations Coordinator and most recently as a Communications and Education Coordinator responsible for building, delivering and evaluating regional outreach programs for water, liquid waste and solid waste services.

In her new role, Alicia will be responsible for the development, management and coordination of the City’s internal and external communications programs and will also provide support to the Clerk’s Department.

The City’s Chief Administrative Officer, Tim Pley said “This is a key position within our organization and Alicia’s energy and expertise will bring an exciting new dynamic to the City as we continue to develop and expand our efforts in the area of public relations and engagement.”

This announcement follows an extensive external competition that was initiated after the departure of Jake Martens, Deputy City Clerk/Communications Coordinator. Alicia resides in the Alberni Valley and will assume her new duties on November 6, 2017.
