Alberni Valley Emergency Program

Under bylaw, the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) is responsible for emergency planning for the Alberni Valley which includes the following:

  • City of Port Alberni
  • Electoral Area "B" (Beaufort)
  • Electoral Area "D" (Sproat Lake)
  • Electoral Area "E" (Beaver Creek); and
  • Electoral Area "F" (Cherry Creek)

"To provide planning, support and leadership in emergency management to our community in order to protect people, property and the environment in the event of an emergency or disaster."

Voyent Alert! - Emergency Notification System

Voyent Alert! is an emergency notification system which sends alerts to residents, businesses and visitors during critical events such as tsunami, earthquake, wildfires or other disasters.

Registration is free, simple to complete and anonymous. It provides registrants with emergency alerts, instructions and critical information regarding events within their designated area. Voyent Alert! features personalized navigation and mapping, and distance and direction from an incident. It also offers GPS locating to provide accuracy for incidents and to ensure effective performance, it is tested monthly on the first Wednesday of every month in conjunction with the tsunami warning siren test.

Notifications can be delivered through the mobile app, text/SMS, email or voice call.
