Recognizing Social Service Providers following Argyle Evacuation

The City of Port Alberni extends its sincere gratitude to the local social service agencies, employees and volunteers who worked dilligently to relocate tenants following the evacuation of 5170 Argyle Street.

Following the discovery of hazardous materials, swift action was necessary to minimize exposure, leading to the enactment of a Fire Order and subsequent evacuation of the building due to the lack of active fire systems. 

The prompt response and mobilization of service providers in assisting with the relocation is commendable, and the City appreciates their dedication to providing emergency support to the affected tenants.

The City of Port Alberni is grateful for the dedication and quick action of all involved, showcasing the strength and resilience of our community in managing this challenging situation.
