Air Quality Advisory for Port Alberni Ended

(February 22, 2018 – Port Alberni, B.C.) The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in collaboration with Island Health has ended the air quality advisory for Port Alberni as air quality has improved.

Open burning may now be conducted without a permit or approval from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy provided the activity complies with the Open Burning Smoke Control Regulation, Environmental Management Act. All open burning must also comply with the City of Port Alberni's Outdoor Burning Regulations/Bylaw.
