Traffic Advisory - Thunder in the Valley

The City of Port Alberni wishes to advise the public that the Thunder in the Valley drag race event is scheduled to be held along Stamp Avenue, August 6-7, 2016.  In order to facilitate this event a temporary closure of Stamp Avenue will begin at approximately 2:00pm on Thursday, August 4^th. Stamp Avenue will remain closed until the evening of Sunday, August 7^th, or when the City has determined that the street is safe to re-open.  

Due to the road closure, those travelling near the event should allow extra time to get to and from their destination.  Motorists traveling in the area of this event may experience delays and are reminded to exercise extra caution in areas of heavy pedestrian traffic.
