In response to the legalization of cannabis, the City of Port Alberni has determined where to permit cannabis retail stores, however cannabis production and processing is not currently a permitted use within the city.

The City is now developing recommendations to determine appropriate zoning that would accommodate cannabis production and cultivation in Port Alberni.

We would like to hear your thoughts and ideas while we develop recommendations to modify our Zoning Bylaw. Your input will be provided to Council in a summary public engagement report, and will help inform staff’s recommendations to Council in the fall of 2019.
