City Transportation Master Plan Survey Now Open for Public Feedback

Sara Bearchell

Port Alberni, BC - March 5, 2026 – The City of Port Alberni is inviting residents to provide feedback on the next phase of the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) project. The second round of public engagement is underway, giving the community an opportunity to review and comment on our draft transportation priorities, policies, and improvements. The TMP will guide transportation planning and investment in Port Alberni over the next 20 years. The plan focuses on maintaining and improving existing infrastructure, enhancing safety, and expanding transportation options for people of all ages and abilities.

Public input is essential to ensuring the TMP reflects our community’s needs. In spring 2025, the City completed Round 1 of public engagement, which helped us better understand current conditions, key issues, and opportunities for improvement. The November 26, 2025, “Connect with Your City” Open House, which featured Master Planning engagement, further informed our work to date.

Today, we are launching a survey that asks respondents to review and provide feedback on:

  • Draft transportation vision, goals, and objectives

  • Proposed policies such as Complete Streets, traffic calming, and safety initiatives

  • Draft transportation infrastructure priorities and project types

  • Potential infrastructure projects and investment priorities

Residents are encouraged to take the survey, which takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

Feedback collected will be used to refine the draft Transportation Master Plan and ensure it reflects community priorities.

The survey is open until March 26, 2026 and available here: https://www.letsconnectpa.ca/tmp.

Following this phase of engagement, the project team will prepare a draft of the complete Transportation Master Plan for consideration by Council.
