Media Release - Krista Tremblay Selected as New Manager of Human Resources

The City of Port Alberni is pleased to announce the hiring of Krista Tremblay as the new Manager of Human Resources.

Tremblay, who is originally from Port Alberni, comes to the City following a 16-year career with Catalyst Paper - Port Alberni Division, serving most recently as manager of human resources for the past 6 years.    

Ms. Tremblay holds a Master of Science degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia. In addition, she has received a certificate in disability management from The National Institute of Disability Management and Research (NIDMAR).

As a key member of the senior leadership team at Catalyst Paper, Ms. Tremblay was responsible for all human resource matters, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, policy interpretation, compensation and benefits, and performance management.

“Krista brings a wealth of professional experience to our organization that will help maximize our human resources,” said Mayor Mike Ruttan. “She is highly regarded for her leadership and professionalism and as a very competent human resource professional.”

“We are excited to have someone of Krista’s caliber joining our administrative team where she will play a significant role in helping us to achieve our corporate strategies,” said Tim Pley, Acting City Manager/Fire Chief.   

Ms. Tremblay will assume her new duties on May 30, 2016.
