News Release - Jake Martens Departure

JAKE MARTENS LEAVING CITY OF PORT ALBERNI
 

The City of Port Alberni is losing a key member of its management team as Jake Martens, Deputy City Clerk/Communications Coordinator has announced he is leaving the City to take on a new role as Manager of Legislative Services for the Comox Valley Regional District.
 

Jake joined the City six years ago and since that time has facilitated many public engagement sessions, implemented strategies to improve the City’s communications with its residents through social media and other means, and has provided support and leadership to Council, staff and the community at large.
 

"Jake possesses a unique skill set that has enabled him to lead the City forward on many different fronts during the past six years. While we will greatly miss Jake’s contribution within the City staff team and in the community, we recognize that this move represents an opportunity for Jake and his family to fulfill both career and personal goals" commented Tim Pley, CAO.

 

Plans to replace Jake will be announced in due course. His last day with the City will be Friday, July 21st.
