PORT ALBERNI, B.C. – March 30, 2026. Construction is set to begin on a major investment in the city of Port Alberni’s drinking water infrastructure, starting this spring. Rolling out in four phases over the next seven years, the project involves replacing a total of 4.65 kms of aging, mostly underground pipework that connects the city to its water treatment plant.
Port Alberni, BC - March 5, 2026 – The City of Port Alberni is inviting residents to provide feedback on the next phase of the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) project. The second round of public engagement is underway, giving the community an opportunity to review and comment on our draft transportation priorities, policies, and improvements. The TMP will guide transportation planning and investment in Port Alberni over the next 20 years.
Port Alberni, BC - February 27, 2026 – The City of Port Alberni is advising residents that, following a procurement process, the City has awarded its animal control services contract to Coastal Animal Control Services of BC Limited (Coastal Animal Control). Coastal Animal Control is headquartered in Duncan, BC, and will begin providing services in Port Alberni effective March 1, 2026.
