
Port Alberni, BC – November 6, 2025 - The City of Port Alberni is excited to announce the hiring of Louizandre Dauphin as the new Director of Parks, Recreation, and Culture. Louizandre brings over 15 years of leadership experience in municipal parks, recreation, and cultural services, and is thrilled to join the City of Port Alberni.
In his new role, Louizandre will be responsible for overseeing the City’s parks, recreation, and cultural programs, ensuring that these services are inclusive, accessible, and continue to enrich the lives of residents. He joins the City from his previous role as Director of Parks, Recreation, and Culture for the City of Mission, where he led several successful community-focused initiatives. His commitment to public service, cultural stewardship, and accessible recreation aligns with Port Alberni’s core values.

Throughout his career, Louizandre has fostered strong partnerships with local First Nations, provincial agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations. His experience and inclusive leadership style will be instrumental in helping Port Alberni continue to grow as a destination known for its exceptional quality of life and community spirit.
In addition to his professional experience, Louizandre has demonstrated a passion for community engagement through his volunteer work, including serving on the Board of Directors for Cycling Canada. He is also an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of municipal service delivery.
